We are very happy today! Maya opened the lid of a box with her right hand, as you can see in the video below:
Isn't that just awesome?! :-) In fact, she's dealing much better with the therapy as a whole, the crying now being limited to about 20% of the time.
We're not very happy with Maya's eating though. She's never been very interested in food, but will now eat even less, because she can't do it herself. She only accepts either porridge or sushi these days.
Leela on the other hand has turned into a true milk monster - we suspect she will soon weigh as much as her big sister!!
In the mean time, we're getting into the American lifestyle without problems. TV is all about the Republican Party paying for Sarah Palin's expensive outfits and Alan Greenspan on the economy. With therapy days ending at 3pm, we haven't ventured out much, because we're all so exhausted. So far we've seen the shopping center, the pool and the grocery store! We'll have next Sunday off, so we're planning a trip to the Birmingham Zoo that day. Bye for now!

ReplyDeletealways a game of two halfs. no taxi in sight but also you must take in to consideration her age. try to differentiate her natural female tendencies, her terrible twos and what is happening now. she looks fantastic. she finds the bunny in dutch and then completely ignores her father. all natural stuff. hang in there, you are doing a great thing. and i repeat,,,,, with Tiago she will need both hands. he gets bigger and more beautiful by the day, and his expectations of Maya are increasing. you will have ups and downs, you are doing the right thing, trying to make improvements, please dont expect them over night. you chose a long road, but the correct one. call us and lets decide when next we sit by the pool in Colares and watch our children making fun together swimming in the pool. watching with great concern and interest... love you all.
