Hi y’all. Thanks for all the support, it means a lot to us! Yesterday, after Brittney and Mary Laura had left, Maya was her old happy self again. Today she's still crying, but in between exercises she's giving them hugs. So I guess we should assume that she is not psychologically scarred by all of this.
Today she has already been playing with puzzles and balls, turning pages of a book, feeling textures on animal cards, spreading shaving foam on the window, finger painting, going splash-splash with her bath toys in the sink, pressing buttons on the junior laptop... and I’m writing this only mid-morning! We just gave her some ibuprofen, because she indicated that her right arm was hurting. Since she has never used it as much as she does now, her muscles are aching!
Two more things.
1. Question for parents among you with children Maya’s age or older: did your children spontaneously sit cross-legged at the age of 20 months (Dutch: kleermakerszit)? Maya is encouraged to do so, because it’s a good active sitting position, but she never did it before, so I'm curious.
2. Yes, Leela is still alive and no, we’re not forgetting about her! Therefore, today a photo of Leela in this blog.
Tiago did, not very often. I remember because it looks so cute when they crose the legs. but it was really very rare. sounds as if today you had a much better day. Good. why is Leela suspended on a pink coil?

The "kleermakerszit" is not something I've ever seen at Davey (but he's bilateral). His sitting was with his bottom between the legs (but he was older).
Her arm must (have) hurt very badly... the constant moving ..
