Today was the last full day of therapy. It is wonderful, and at the same time a bit frustrating, that Maya is now making more and quicker progress than ever! Like we mentioned yesterday, we really wish we could have stayed longer.
However, it will be nice for Maya to have both arms available again and now that we have seen what endless repetitions can do, we are very, very motivated to continue with the therapy at home!
Brittny and Maya have been finger painting, drawing and playing with stickers so many times over the last four weeks, that Brittny made us a book with a collection of her art ("Maya's Book"). Really sweet. Today Brittny also gave us the home exercise program that she designed for us. Included in the document was a list of Maya's new abilities (there were 27!). And let's not forget that as a side effect of therapy, her (English) language skills have greatly improved too.
Tomorrow we'll have a normal therapy morning from 7-10, after which Maya's cast will be taken off. Then, after her nap, we'll continue with some bilateral therapy for a few hours and then we'll head off to the clinic for the final tests... We'll keep you informed!
